Starlet Helen McCrory, best understood for starring in Peaky Blinders and the Harry Potter movies, has passed away after a “heroic battle with cancer”, her other half Damian Lewis has stated.
The starlet, who likewise appeared in the James Bond film Skyfall and was seen on screen in the TV series Test and Roadkill in 2015, was 52.
” I’m sad to reveal that after a heroic battle with cancer, the stunning and magnificent female that is Helen McCrory has passed away peacefully in the house, surrounded by a wave of love from family and friends,” Lewis published in a declaration on Twitter.
” She passed away as she lived. Fearlessly. God we enjoy her and understand how fortunate we are to have had her in our lives. She blazed so vibrantly. Go now, Child, into the air, and thank you.”
McCrory was a flexible actress with a career on phase and screen spanning nearly 30 years. However it was Peaky Blinders’ crime family matriarch Polly she was best understood for playing, appearing in the program from 2013 to 2019.
The eldest of three kids, she was born in Paddington, west London, to a Welsh mother and Scottish-born dad. She went to school in Hertfordshire, then spent a year living in Italy, before returning to London to study acting at the Drama Centre.
McCrory and fellow actor Lewis, star of dramas including Homeland and Billions, wed in 2007 and the couple had 2 children – daughter Manon, born in 2006, and kid Gulliver, born in 2007.
Stars have actually been paying homage on social networks, with actor Jim Howick, who dealt with both McCrory and Lewis on the 2015 comedy film Expense, saying they were both “great enjoyable” and adding: “What a talent we have lost.”

Former EastEnders and Crowning Street starlet Michelle Collins said she had briefly dealt with McCrory and explained her as “a tour de force, creative, lovely and fierce and a fantastic actor”.
Kevin McKidd, who starred opposite McCrory in the 2000 TV miniseries Anna Karenina, tweeted: “I am utterly sad to hear this. Damian I’m sending you and the family all my love and warmth at this time.”
